Welcome. I am an Assistant Professor of Political Science at SUNY Oneonta in Oneonta, NY.

My research and teaching focus on Marxist state theory, political parties, degrowth and eco-socialism, and other areas of modern political thought.

My academic work has appeared in Capitalism Nature Socialism, History of Political Thought, and Political Studies Review. I have a chapter on Ralph Nader’s political thought forthcoming in an edited volume entitled Movements and American Political Thought, and a chapter on pedagogy in Political Science in the upcoming volume Educating for Multiracial Democracy.

I also write essays for the popular press, including Counterpunch and Jacobin, and my op-eds have appeared in papers such as the New York Daily News. I am on the editorial board of the journal Capitalism Nature Socialism.

I am also a longtime organizer and activist and have worked as a professional campaign manager for local, state, and federal candidates, as well as in a capacity as a researcher-organizer for Ralph Nader. I am currently the co-chair of the Green Party of New York.

I am currently at work on a research project using Marxist state and value-form theories to examine the political form of bourgeois society and revolutionary class struggle.

I received my PhD in Political Science from the University at Albany, SUNY, in 2011.
